Honest answer: usually yes. Inventory physically stored in a state generally creates physical nexus there under post-*Wayfair* rules — meaning you may need to register, collect and remit sales tax in Texas and/or New Jersey. Two big mitigants: (1) if you sell through marketplace facilitators (Amazon, Walmart, eBay), the marketplace collects and remits for you in all states — you may only need to register; (2) storage fees themselves are not taxed. We provide a written nexus briefing for TX and NJ at onboarding and can refer you to e-commerce CPAs. This is guidance, not legal or tax advice.
Full FBA-compliant prep from $0.55/unit: FNSKU labeling (covering the manufacturer barcode), poly-bagging with suffocation warnings, bubble wrap for fragiles, bundling/kitting with "sold as set" labels, expiration-date labeling, and carton-level box content information. We build your shipping plan cartons to Amazon specs and forward them to FBA fulfillment centers via Amazon partnered carriers (UPS) at cost. Your bulk stock stays with us; only what FBA needs goes in.
You keep buffer inventory on our racks; we ship into Walmart Fulfillment Services intake on a schedule or trigger you define (e.g., when WFS stock drops below 3 weeks of cover). We handle Walmart routing specs: case labels, pallet labels, ASN paperwork, carrier booking to the assigned WFS facility. From $35/shipment plus handling — much cheaper than parking slow stock inside WFS at their long-term storage rates.
Storage: your products sit on racks. No order processing, packing or shipping to end customers. Ideal for FBA/WFS buffers, wholesale stock, import buffering, seasonal buildup. Fulfillment: storage + pick & pack + shipping + returns + marketplace integration — for direct-to-consumer orders. If you sell DTC (Shopify, FBM without FBA), choose fulfillment; if you only need a stock base feeding Amazon/Walmart or wholesale, choose storage. Combine both for a 15% discount.
Standard commercial goods: apparel, footwear, accessories, cosmetics, electronics, homeware, books, toys, furniture, appliances, non-hazardous raw materials, packaged non-food. Not accepted: hazmat/flammables (flash point < 140°F), live plants/animals, firearms and ammunition, unregulated food, pharmaceuticals (FDA-licensed facility required), alcohol/tobacco (state licensing), antiques/art above $50,000. Grocery-adjacent supplements are fine in climate-controlled rooms.
