Marketplace Integration in Poland: Allegro's 60% Grip, KSeF 2026, and the CEE's Largest E-commerce Market
Poland is the largest e-commerce market in Central and Eastern Europe, with 38 million consumers and double-digit YoY growth. But the math is unusual: Allegro alone holds roughly 60% of the market — a level of concentration that even Amazon.de does not reach in Germany. Selling in Poland without an Allegro presence is essentially impossible. International sellers also need to understand BLIK, InPost Paczkomaty, KSeF e-invoicing (mandatory from 2026) and Sp. z o.o. VAT registration.
Allegro: The Polish Unicorn That Beat Amazon
Founded in 1999 in Poznań, Allegro is a publicly listed unicorn with 22 million active buyers. 58% of Polish adults shop on Allegro at least monthly. Onboarding Allegro is not optional — it is the canonical entry path to Polish demand.
- Allegro Smart! (59 PLN/year consumer subscription) gives free InPost delivery; sellers not enrolled lose the Buy Box.
- Allegro Ads sponsored placement is critical — 0.5-3 PLN/click depending on category.
- Commission ranges 5-16% by category: electronics 5-7%, fashion 12-16%, home/garden 10-12%.
- Allegro Pay (BNPL) lifts AOV by ~22% in fashion and electronics.
Amazon.pl: The Slow-Starting Number Two
Amazon launched the .pl storefront in 2021 but has not yet broken Allegro's Buy Box dominance. Still, Amazon.pl is the default search surface for Polish consumers in electronics, books and global brand SKUs. FBA Poland operates out of the Wrocław fulfillment centre.

OLX.pl: From Classifieds to Marketplace
OLX.pl, owned by Naspers, is Poland's second highest-traffic e-commerce destination. Historically a C2C classifieds site, in recent years OLX.pl opened to professional sellers. It is strongest in second-hand goods, furniture, auto parts and bulky items where InPost lockers are not viable.
Empik and Morele.net: Verticalised Niche Channels
Empik is an omnichannel player with 200+ physical stores covering books, music, gifting, toys and electronics. Morele.net is the only niche marketplace that competes with Allegro head-on in consumer electronics and PC components.
KSeF: The 2026 Compliance Cliff
Krajowy System e-Faktur (KSeF) is Poland's national e-invoice platform. From February 2026 it becomes mandatory for large enterprises (revenue > 200 m PLN); from July 2026 mandatory for all VAT-registered businesses, including SMBs. Marketplace invoices must be transmitted to KSeF within 24 hours via the official API and stamped with a KSeF reference number before delivery to the buyer.
- Allegro and Amazon.pl orders need KSeF XML emission within 24 h.
- Invoices cannot be emailed before stamping with the KSeF number.
- JPK_V7 monthly audit files can be auto-derived from KSeF data.
